Johnson statement on terrorist attack

JOHNSON: DEFENDERS OF THE CONSTITUTION AREN’T COMPLICIT
IN ACT OF TERRORISM

Marietta, OH 6/13/16 – Congressman Bill Johnson released the following statement after Democrat Senator Chris Murphy said Congress is to blame for the Orlando terrorist attack and Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal called the attack a "public health crisis”:

“An evil person, fueled by a radical Islamic terrorist agenda, attacked Americans in Orlando over the weekend. That person is responsible for the dozens of victims and scores of family members who must now say goodbye and piece their shattered lives back together. For Senator Murphy to falsely blame Congress, rather than America's enemy the Islamic State, is deeply troubling. And I would remind Senator Blumenthal that calling a terrorist attack on innocent men and women a 'public health crisis' dishonors the thousands of Americans who died on 9-11 and the other victims of terror attacks since.

Now is a time to pull together as a nation. President Obama called the Orlando attack an act of hate. He ought to realize that every act of terrorism is an act of hate – hatred for freedom, democracy, and all Americans. I hope we can unite against the one true enemy here – radical Islamist terrorism.”
